Accounting Assistant
Bookminders is a premier provider of automated accounting and information
management services to small business and nonprofit organizations. Our
sophisticated accounting systems allow clients to access and manage their
finances in an efficient and cost-effective manner, providing them an
alternative to the burden and expense of maintaining an in-house accounting
function.
We are seeking qualified candidates to join our network of
accounting professionals. The position will work full-time at the office under
the direction of experienced staff. The position

Job Responsibilities

Work under direction of
experienced staff to learn the operation of existing accounts and/or set up new client
accounts
-
Operate accounting software to enter financial data,
generate checks and prepare reports

Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and
review outstanding items
-
Implement procedural or system improvements
-
Apply Bookminders’ standards when performing client
services
-
Provide Bookminders’ office with billing information in a
timely manner
Training
Bookminders provides employees with ongoing training
necessary to effectively service clients, including computer-based, one-on-one
and group training. After initial training, employees are trained and
supervised by experienced staff to service assigned client accounts.
Job Requirements
Qualified applicants must have:

Two or four-year college degree, preferably in accounting
or business

One to two years of financial, accounting, or related
experience

Knowledge of computers and telecommunications

Knowledge of general ledger accounting
-
Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and word processing
software
Candidates must be able to work during business hours
(Monday - Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm).
